Come To Jesus

Jesus gave us all an invitation that can’t be beat. I don’t know how anyone would refuse it. Check this out:

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Matthew 11:28-30

I’m thinking rest universally sounds good.

So what do you think it means to “come to Jesus”?

Lay everything down and abide in Him. Live out of His life and trust Him for all. His Father, our Vinedresser, is pleased to tend to us as we become firmly connected to His Son, the Vine, and allow Him to work in us His good and perfect will. The Spirit would course through us and teach us His ways and produce His fruit that would bring great glory to the Vinedresser. We may rest in that the Lord will keep us and abide in us as long as He is our focus.

Bryan,
I really enjoyed this post as well as your blog.
I will definatly be back often. So continue to keep up the great work. I like the way you get us to challenge your readers.

preacherman’s last blog post..Blasphemy-The Eternal Sin?

I am all for the “give me rest” right now…too tired to think very deeply I guess. :)
Reba’s last blog post..Still here…

Thanks guys for writing. I’d love to see some more thoughts. I will write a bit in a new post.

Marie, I definitely think trusting is a big, if not complete, picture of resting!
