It is All God’s Creation - Partial Birth Abortion Ban Held Constitutional!

Lord, help us see your creation as you do. Reveal more of your character and your desires toward your creation to us. We praise you for the excellence of your handiwork! Praise You that your purpose will always prevail!

Have you heard the news that the Supreme Court upheld the ban of partial birth abortions? Here is the NY Times article.

“For You [O God] have formed my inward parts; You have covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me. When as yet there were none of them. How precious also are your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!” Psalm 139:13-17.

Thanks, Debbie and CB! CB, in light of my recent post on encouragement, I just wanted to say that you have been a great encouragement to me. Thank you!

Brian

Great and though-provoking posts lately…thanks for tackling such tough subjects.

Can you comment on your experience with Christianity in the UK (despite limited time there)?

Scott

When Roe is overturned, I’ll be less guarded in expressing optimism. In spite of this ruling, there was still a full parking lot inside the fence of the abortion clinic I pass on my way to work each day. As long as that’s the case, I can’t really celebrate.

Lee, we can always celebrate: that God chooses to be good, loving, kind, just, merciful and gracious!!! Praise Him and enjoy His company while praying for those behind the fence every day, including the medical “professionals,” as you drive and rejoice that you have that opportunity to stand in the gap for them.

Somehow, I knew you’d have something uplifting to say…

There’s a particular intersection I pass each day when I begin my prayer–I’ve done that every day since I learned that this innocuous building, which looks like any other medical office building anywhere, was an abortion clinic.

A week from Thursday is National Day of Prayer. Our church sanctuary, which is less than half a mile down the street, will be open all day. Pray for me, I plan to walk inside that building and hand out invitations for people to come and pray.

Lee, I’m sitting at my computer with tears of joy. Godspeed to you and I will continue to pray for you and for those who desperately need to be awakened to the truth of who God is and the idolatry in their hearts.

Scott, my experience really has been limited to the base here and church services on the weekends and the faith is very strong. England is experiencing some growth in Islamic believers, and that is truly a spiritual war, but there also are many young people being saved through the blood of Jesus by the leading of the Holy Spirit. Those Christians I have met have a strong faith in a real, personal God who chooses to love them and, as a result, they desire an intimate walk with Him and are listening to Him for their guidance. It’s a powerful testimony to the truth of Jesus.

I hope to learn more. But it is hard for us to get around too much as we don’t have a car.
