I went to check out his site as well as many of his links. this led me to more research on the emerging church. i’ve been interested before, enticed by their acts emphasis on community which greg and i have always longed for and even tried to put together once on our own, which of course, failed. i read an essay on the emerging church a few months ago and it sounded pretty out there, love peace and universalism. but looking deeper into what the actual e. church says it believes, it sounds pretty right on, as right on as an organization can be. thanks for putting that up, it was really interesting.

bryan, have you read the book The Last Word and the Word After That by Brian McClll…yeah, I forgot his last name. It was some big thing on Kiwi’s blog and I was wondering if you’ve heard anything else about it? Is is linked to the views of the Emerging church? If you don’t know, don’t research, I was just curious.

Brian McLaren. I haven’t read much of him. I know that many consider him as having gone too far with some of his thought, but I can’t comment one way or the other. I do think that like with many churches and movements, there are probably good and bad aspects to the emerging church. It’s filled with humans.

I’ve read ‘A new kind of Christian’ by McLaren.
Mumford actually recommended it to me.
I’ve heard all kinds of things about him-but not in this book. It was good.

It got exactly TWO comments, which was 9 comments less than my American Idol post and 15 comments less than my Church Building Program post. Sigh. I thought the one on fellowship was much more interesting, so here I am blatantly pandering on your blog to drum up more interest and feedback. I’m so sad.
