My Favorite Blogger in 2006 – Paul Burleson

I don’t take this lightly because I rarely commit myself to one favorite.  If someone asks me my favorite movie, I’ll name at least three and the list changes.  If they ask me my favorite color, I’ll always say two.  I just don’t like to narrow things down to one “favorite.”  I really enjoy many things and I like to have many choices.  I also like to surprise people (unfortunately too often in my pride) with unexpected choices.

I had to fight off some of those old ways of thinking to come to this conclusion, but, once I did, it was not hard at all for me to pick one favorite blogger.  The wisdom and humility evidenced by Paul Burleson at http://vtmbottomline.blogspot.com/ is a testimony to the grace of God through Jesus Christ in a man’s life.  I only wish he would write more often.

In his two most recent posts he talks of the return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  The last one was absolutely wonderful.  As we all are looking forward to a New Year, I’d suggest you take time to read those and ponder the words Peter scribed almost 2000 years ago in 2 Peter 3.  Here is just a taste:  “But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.”  2 Peter 3:13.

Bryan, glad your back up and running. I noted the change of address also.

I certainly agree with your assessment of Pauls writings and go there first thing each morning to see if he has written something new. What he seems to be able to do is “maintain and continually walk” in these attributes even in the midst of turmoil.
I’m glad you brought attention his blog, it it ALWAYS worth a read. Yours is too :)
Welcome back home and blessings to you and yours in 2007.

Bryan: I will be blessed to hear Paul speak in our church this Sunday. I have heard him many times over the years and have been absolutely drawn to what he has preached. He is in preaching the same person as you described. I also enjoy his blog as it always challenges me in my thinking and Bible reading.

I always look forward to going to church on Sunday, but will be interested in what he has to say this Sunday. He will also be conducting a week of meetings, one where he teaches on the tabernacle.
